Community Partnerships
Nestled in the heart of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, the Presidio Riding Club has always been more than a stable. It is a gathering place where our equine friends serve as a bridge across all community members. Through a growing family of partnerships, PRC opens its gates to all, offering experiences that are healing, educational, and joyful.
Our current outreach programs include Meet the Horses, Dirt Fondo, YMCA outreach, Veteran's Programs, and Marin Search and Rescue.

Meet the Horses
Each year, Presidio Riding Club opens its barn doors for community events like Horse Hallow and the Spring Roundup, which are festive, family-friendly days that draw visitors of all ages from across the region. These events are a chance to meet the horses, learn about stable life, and experience the unique magic of the Marin Headlands.
Dirt Fondo
The annual Dirt Fondo cycling event winds through the trails and roads of the Marin Headlands, and Presidio Riding Club is proud to be the backdrop that hosts the cyclists at the end of their route for lunch. This partnership brings cyclists and equestrians together in shared appreciation of the land, where we educate cyclists on how to share the trails by remembering the mantra "Slow & Say Hello"! YMCA Outreach
In partnership with the YMCA youth rangers, Presidio Riding Club welcomes youth from across the Bay Area to the barn for hands-on equine education. Many of these young visitors have never been near a horse. These moments can spark lifelong connections to nature, animals, and the outdoors.
Veteran's Programs
In recognition of the Presidio Riding Club's military roots while upholding our gratitude, our veterans' equine programs strive to "give back" to those who have served their country in wartime and who now find it difficult to reenter civilian life. Just as the PRC has transformed successfully from a wartime facility to a serene peacetime haven, our veterans' equine program helps veterans facilitate their own transformation.
Marin Search and Rescue
Presidio Riding Club has been a proud host of the Mountain Rescue Association's annual conference, including the Marin Search and Rescue team, offering our historic headlands facility as a home base for the event. We provide access to our horses, our grounds, and our lunch room — welcoming the search and rescue professionals who train and serve communities across the country. It's a privilege to support the people who do this vital work.
